Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Q: Can I buy just the kits or just the educational materials?
A: The program is sold as a complete set of products and services.

  2. Q: Most homes built after 1992 have high efficiency fixtures already. Will your program still be effective?
A: Our programs will still be effective for several reasons. The education our programs provide helps to teach people how to save water in ways that devices can't.

  3. Q: What if an older brother or sister participated in the program in a previous year?
A: The participant is asked to perform the home portion of the program at a neighbor or relatives home.

  4. Q: Can we personally be involved in the program implementation?
A: Yes. Although our programs require no manpower whatsoever, some sponsors choose to be personally involved. This can mean participating in the teacher enrollment process, helping to present the program in the classroom or even providing a supplemental presentation. It is also not uncommon for a sponsor to present teachers with outstanding teacher awards. The amount of personal involvement is up to the individual sponsor, but is certainly not required.

  5. Q: I am working with a limited budget. Is there anything I can do?
A: If you have limited funds, the best idea is to do a small pilot program. Once you get the results back, you can use the summary report to encourage the budgeting committee to increase your funding. Also, the program is geared to attract multiple sponsors, so you can always partner up with other organizations to share in the cost.

  6. Q: How small of a program can I sponsor? How large of a program can I sponsor?
A: The program is geared to target one grade level at a time. Your program can be as small as one classroom or as large as all the classrooms within that grade level.

  7. Q: What if I don't have any extra manpower or staff time to devote to this program?
A: Our program requires no additional manpower from the sponsors. We enroll teachers, implement the program track the results, and you benefit from its results. You provide the sponsorship, and we do the rest.

  8. Q: Who has sponsored these programs in the past?
A: Click here for our most up to date sponsor list

  9. Q: All the low flow showers I've tried give terrible showers. Why would people use your programs showerhead?
A: The Oxygenics® showerhead that comes inside each kit has been hand picked by us for several reasons. First, unlike most high efficiency showerheads, the Oxygenics® showerhead cannot be modified by removing the flow restrictor device that comes in most low flow showerheads. The Oxygenics® showerhead works off of a completely unique technology and does not have a water restricting device inside of it. Finally, Oxygenics® showerheads are a high-end showerhead that gives a clean-rinsing, invigorating shower. Oxygenics® showerheads are sold at high-end retail stores such as Bed Bath and Beyond and Sharper Image for over $40 dollars.

  10. Q: I already give out free kits and low flow devices. How can your program benefit me?
A: Because the children take the kits home as a homework assignment, you achieve a much higher installation rate of the retrofit products. The secret of our program lies in the chartable and quantifiable results we provide you at the end of the program.

  11. Q: Are the schools receptive to your programs?
A: The program was written by teachers for teachers and is designed to meet many of the state and federal curriculum standards for science and math. On average, we are able to enroll over 80% of teachers in a given area.

  12. Q: Once we've decided that we want to do a program, what steps do we need to take to get started?
A: The first thing to do is choose a program size based on your available budget or the number of homes you would like to reach. Next you would sign a quotation form. Finally, you would submit a digital copy of your organizations logo, so we can brand the program materials. That's it. We do the rest.

  13. Q: Who normally funds these programs?
A: The program can be funded by anyone who might benefit from it, but traditionally, cities, counties or utility providers are the sponsors. Also, multiple entities can partner together to divide costs and share in the public relations benefits.

  14. Q: How does your program differ from other education-based programs?
A: Our programs create measurable resource savings and these savings are documented and provided to you at the end of the program in the form of our Program Summary Report. Our program goes beyond the classroom and into the home to educate the entire family. The combination of hands on learning and actual installation of resource saving devices creates education that they will carry with them through the rest of their lives.

  15. Q: What grade level are these programs used in?
A: Fourth, fifth, or sixth grade is usually where the program is implemented. However, grade levels differ from state to state based on where the program fits in with the state's curriculum standards.

  16. Q: What is the cost of the program?
A: Because our program is completely customizable, each program is different. There is however, a basic program that can be quoted based on the number of homes you'd like to reach. For a quote, give us a call today!

  17. Q: What does the program include?
A: Our programs are 100% turn-key and contain everything needed to work effectively. This includes all teacher and student materials needed to complete the program, all implementation services and material distribution, all follow up/data collection services and a copy of a summary report.

  18. Q: How will we know if the program is being effective?
A: At the completion of the program, we provide each sponsor with a summary report. This report shows the total estimated resource savings of gas, water and electricity that the program generated based on the installation rates of the products. This report also depicts all the audit information we collected along with the results of the "before and after" test that shows the increased knowledge learned by each participant.
